International Podcast Day

So, today is officially International Podcast Day, and I. Love. Podcasts.

I’ve only really actively listened to them for a year or so now, and since discovering them and how much I can learn, get inspired and get motivated whilst on the go have been amazed I didn’t discover them sooner.

The thing is, we might struggle to ‘find the time’ to devote to reading an inspiring business book, or attend a networking event or interesting panel discussion. But podcasts are something you can pick up on the go, tune in to whilst you’re travelling, running, doing housework.. you name it.

I’m often asked what some of my favourite podcasts are, especially for fellow #eventprofs or women in business and so I’ve decided to list my top three (of the moment!) here.  My listen-to-list is ALWAYS growing, and I’m always keen to get recommendations from others, too.  But if you’re looking for a new podcast why not check out one of my favourites?

  1. How to Fail with Elizabeth Day

This is truly one of the most sincere and important podcast series I’ve come across and is always such an inspiring listen.  Elizabeth interviews a whole host of guests and instead of focusing on their wins, asks them to open up about the things that haven’t gone so well.   It’s so important to embrace failure, and especially working in the world of events things can go wrong, and we need to learn from them, and move forward.  I have just listened to Camilla Thurlow’s episode which is so heartfelt and honest and well worth devoting 45 minutes to.

  • The RISE Podcast with Rachel Hollis

I absolutely LOVE Rachel Hollis and everything she stands for.  She encourages us to hustle hard whilst still looking out for ourselves, set and strive to achieve goals and dream BIG for careers and businesses.  Her RISE podcast covers an incredible range of guests and their thoughts, struggles, wins, beliefs and motivations and as a former events professional herself she’s a huge inspiration to me.

  • Girlboss Radio with Sophia Amoruso

A must for women in business; CEO of Girlboss Sophia Amoruso and COO of Girlboss Neha Gandhi have honest, inspirational conversations with women who have paved their own way and blazed trails in businesses, projects or their careers.  It’s a great listen and really highlights some of the incredible women achieving great things across many sectors; with a fun yet often vulnerable approach.  This year I went to the Girlboss Rally in Los Angeles and was so so inspired, so have enjoyed listening to their podcast too.

Just a short but sweet list for now.. what are some of your favourite podcasts?
